Climate Scientist

Katerina Gonzales

President's Postdoctoral Fellow | Department of Soil, Water, and Climate | University of Minnesota

I study the causes and impacts of extreme precipitation in a warming climate.

I am a climate scientist who researches climate change's impact on extreme events. Bridging research and practice, I study how to best communicate these scientific results with climate science users or stakeholders. My current work is co-producing tools to improve climate communication within water utilities, who are on the forefront of adapting to climate change.

Mission Statement:

to understand how extreme events are changing as the climate warms and

to build the critical links between science and society, putting climate science into action.
